Water System Asset Management
Zone Metering and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system
Water system asset management would track the efficiency of water delivery by metering distribution at the zone level over their lifecycles, including their installation, operations, and maintenance, and lead to significant water savings that enable increased water supply. Non-revenue water losses would be lessened throughout the system and energy consumption would be reduced by optimizing the operation of the water system. Elements include conditions assessments, detailed survey investigation, and prioritized improvements. A supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system would integrate management and perform supervisory operations or the full array of proprietary assets within the water and sewerage system.
Asset Management Software
Asset-management software would evaluate physical infrastructure performance to optimize water and solid waste systems performance, when replacement of aging assets becomes necessary. Asset-management software improves staff productivity, through better utilization of staff skills, certifications, labour and physical assets.
Strategic Pipe Replacement
As zone metering, SCADA, and asset management software provide insights into inefficiencies in the water system, 5-10% of pipes that lose the most water through leakage each year would be replaced.
